Hans Memling in Bruges

The world-renowned artworks of the German painter Hans Memling (c. 1435–1494) are masterpieces of imagination. They tell stories that captivate their viewers even more than 500 years after their creation. Nine of these works are in Bruges, Belgium – the city where Memling worked until his death. On the occasion of the reopening of the renovated Sint-Janshospital Museum in Bruges, Dr. Anna Koopstra, curator of Early Netherlandish Painting at Musea Brugge, dedicates this unique volume to Memling's life and work.
