About the Author

Peter Karasch

Peter Karasch has been interested in mushrooms since he could walk. He practically grew up among flowers and butterflies in his grandfather's nursery. With his parents, he roamed the autumn forests searching for bay boletes, chanterelles, and porcini. Almost 30 years ago, he passed the examination to become a mushroom expert for the German Society for Mycology. As a passionate nature lover, he has since intensively studied mushrooms and their ecology. For more than 20 years, he has been actively involved in the mushroom scene on a voluntary basis. Since 2007, he has been self-employed in field mycology and trains nature enthusiasts in courses at www.pilzteam-bayern.de.
