About the Author

Matthias F. Mangold

Matthias F. Mangold, born in Franconia, an adopted Swabian, and a Californian at heart, found his culinary home in the Palatinate after several years in Munich. The journalist, who studied philosophy and history, founded his company "genusstur" in 2003. In a 300-year-old property, he hosts cooking classes, wine seminars, and culinary corporate incentives. He is a member of many tasting juries, has published several cookbooks and wine guides, and represents a down-to-earth, reproducible, yet always surprising cuisine with excursions into Mediterranean and Asian flavors.
