About the Author

Gudrun Braun

Mag. Gudrun Braun studied zoology and specialized in ethology (the study of animal behavior). She has lived with dogs for over 30 years and has worked for years as a dog trainer in an animal shelter, rehabilitating dogs with behavioral issues and helping them return to a normal daily life with their new owners. She also works for the "Tierschutz macht Schule" (Animal Welfare Teaches School) association and is responsible for the development and implementation of the "Pet Buddy" children's program. Gudrun Braun is an animal welfare-qualified dog trainer and has been appointed by the City of Vienna to administer the Vienna Dog License and by the Lower Austrian State Government for the Dog Ownership Competence Certificate. She is a trained Tellington TTouch Practitioner for dogs and small animals and has authored numerous scientific and popular science publications and books on dog behavior, the rehabilitation of shelter dogs, and "enrichment for pets."
