About the Author

Elli H. Radinger

Elli H. Radinger (born 1951) gave up her career as a lawyer in 1983 to combine her love for animals and writing. Since then, she has worked as a specialist journalist for numerous animal and nature magazines and writes books on topics such as wolves, wilderness, nature, environment, and ecology. Her passion has always been wolves. When she got to know them better in 1991 during behavioral studies of captive wolves at Wolf Park, an American wolf research institute, she succumbed to the "wolf virus." Together with Günther Bloch and others, she founded the "Gesellschaft zum Schutz der Wölfe e.V." (Society for the Protection of Wolves) in 1991, serving as its chairwoman for ten years. Since then, she has also published Wolf Magazin. For a large part of the year, Elli Radinger stays in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA, where she has been a volunteer in the wolf project since the reintroduction of wolves in 1995. Wolf enthusiasts have the opportunity to book Elli Radinger as a guide in Yellowstone or to participate in one of her wolf tours. She is convinced: "We humans can learn a lot from wild wolves."
