In spring, drakes are among the most colourful native birds. However, the females of the different duck species look quite similar, and in summer and autumn, the males also take on a plain plumage, in which the different species can only be distinguished by small details. How can they best be distinguished? Which characteristics are reliable?

The aim of the webinar is to reliably identify the dabbling, diving and sea ducks of Central Europe. Using photos and illustrations, we will learn to pay attention to the correct distinguishing features, as well as incorporate behaviour and habitat preferences into the identification process.
