Groundwork Training Book

In this book, Marius Schneider attempts to provide a complementary approach to the concept of "horsemanship". Groundwork, cavesson work, lunging, advanced lunging, in-hand work, long reining, and free work are addressed in explanatory training lessons. The reader is given a "step-by-step" guide to successfully begin training work with their horse. This ABC of groundwork with horses shows how the individual training steps should be carried out if we expect "understanding" from our horse. The reader receives a structured overview of various ways to successfully gymnasticize their horse, regardless of breed or age. Every lesson, starting with leading and following and ending with the lessons of high school equitation, can first be worked on from the ground to make learning easier for the horse. This path is not a gift, but it opens up a complementary perspective on the topic of handling, communication, and training horses. If one follows this path, one will realize how much horses simply give us if we can make ourselves understood. The goal is to develop a common language, to practice all future aids from the rider on the ground first, and then successfully transfer them to the saddle.
