Dog training and activities consist of movement and behavior. But how do dogs (and their humans) really learn movements – and what does that mean for our training? This webinar combines neurobiological insights with practical examples from dog training.
Using current models from learning research, speaker Robert Mehl shows how motor processes are developed, stabilized, and automated. This addresses the central questions: When are errors in the learning process helpful, and when are they rather hindering? How do motivation, dopamine, and serotonin affect learning behavior and error tolerance? And how can this knowledge be specifically used to make learning processes more effective, individualized, and sustainable?
The webinar offers practical strategies for designing training sequences, reward structures, and adapting to different learning types – for both trainers* and engaged dog owners*.
An inspiring mix of science and practice – for anyone who wants to understand training processes more deeply and design them more effectively.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- To understand the neurobiological foundations of motor learning.
- To use errors, repetition, and rewards specifically for learning success.
- To effectively utilize motivation and variability in training.
- To recognize the influence of personality, neurotransmitters, and learning types.
- To apply practical strategies directly in dog training.
