Moonscapes

Since 2009, NASA's "Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter" (LRO) has been circling the Moon, photographing and mapping its surface. State-of-the-art photographic technology allows for oblique views of craters and mountains, as well as 3D images with a real wow factor. Newly formed craters have been found, and even footprints of Apollo astronauts have been captured. This elaborately designed volume presents the landscapes of our celestial companion in a completely new light. In addition to a complete lunar atlas, supplemented by the fantastic imagery of the LRO, it provides information on the latest research findings, describes the Moon as a nocturnal luminary and celestial body, and reports on past and future lunar missions.
