The effects of missions only become apparent later. Preventing overwork is important; the dog must be protected from burnout. But what if it has happened and the dog shows effects after a mission or an exam? How can I help him process the experience positively so that he emerges stronger from the situation?

Alexandra Grunow is the founder and managing director of the K-9 Search Dog Center. For several years, she has volunteered with the search and rescue dog team "Mantrailer & Rettungshunde Starnberg e.V."
