In dog ownership, a divide is opening up: On the one hand, more and more people are becoming familiar with muzzles as a tool and recognizing their utility, but on the other hand, prejudices and myths persist that make their use a burden.
Whether one's own dog has to wear a muzzle due to regulations, should not uncontrolably pick up supposedly edible things, should not lick a wound or cause a wound to another dog, whether the dog shows problematic behavior or even actually poses a danger to the environment – the reasons why owning and accustoming a dog to a suitable muzzle are varied.
A lot has happened in recent years. The variety of fits has increased enormously, and the possibilities for creatively designing a muzzle are immense. Useful and less useful innovations complete the market's offerings and at the same time lead to understandable overwhelm for those who are dealing with the wire device for the first time.
