A dog's motivation is one of the most important prerequisites for successful dog training. But what is the best way to motivate a dog? What forms of reward are there anyway? Does food work better than social rewards? What is a corruption effect and what is intrinsic motivation?
A very popular training method is clicker training. As in many areas of the dog world, there are also various assumptions here that do not necessarily have a scientific basis. Questions that arise in this context would be, for example: Do you have to reward after every click? And is working with a clicker more effective than other training methods? In this webinar, Dr. Marie Nitzschner explains how motivation arises, what role dopamine plays in it, and how motivation can be optimally used for training and living together through proper reward.
