Dr. Britta Schöffmann, a sports scientist, dressage judge, and former Grand Prix rider, is the author of several Kosmos textbooks – including classics such as "Lektionen richtig reiten" (Riding Lessons Correctly), "Aufgabenreiten leicht gemacht" (Test Riding Made Easy), and "Die Dressurstunde" (The Dressage Lesson). For years, she has been teaching horse and rider with great expertise and passion. Her vivid and easily understandable way of explaining the how and why of dressage riding has gained her a large and steadily growing following. Her books have been translated into seven languages, and in instructional DVDs (from pferdia), the holder of the German Gold Rider's Badge also deals in detail with all questions of equestrian training and further education. For her, improving riding technique, combined with an understanding of the horse's interior and exterior, as well as the biomechanical relationships of movement sequences, is the best way to achieve trust and harmony between human and animal.
Against this background, the topic of "neglected lessons" such as rein-back, forehand turns, hindquarter turns, and roll-backs, often ridden hardly or only sporadically by many riders in the heat of training, is particularly relevant. Britta Schöffmann explains what these exercises should look like, which aids are necessary, what causes the most common mistakes, and why these lessons are important and helpful in the first place.
Learn in her webinar "Often Neglected: Rein-back, Forehand Turn, Hindquarter Turn, and Roll-back":
- What the individual lessons should look like.
- Which aids are given.
- Where typical rider errors lurk and how to correct them.
- What success or failure says about the rider's aids.
- Why these unspectacular lessons are important at all.
Using examples, images, and short film sequences, let her explain what is important and how you can achieve improved communication with your horse.
