Some dogs are constantly tense in everyday life, overreact to stimuli, and can barely relax outside their own four walls. They are not very resilient, struggle with changes, and benefit little from conventional training approaches. For their owners, this means uncertainty, despair, and the feeling of doing everything wrong.
This webinar is about dogs whose nervous systems are permanently overloaded, and we will explore the question of how daily life with such a dog can even be managed. Well-intentioned and even well-executed training often yields only marginal results with dogs that are so overwhelmed. In this webinar, the speaker will explain why this is the case and what can be considered in daily life with these dogs to make the situation more bearable for all involved.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- how persistently high stress manifests in dogs and how to recognize when stimuli and demands become too much for them.
- how to better assess whether challenging behavior stems from a lack of orientation or if your dog's nervous system is permanently overwhelmed.
- how to structure daily life and training to stabilize, relieve stress, and provide orientation.
- to interpret body language in context and react appropriately to situations.
