Holding back, waiting, resisting exciting stimuli, and only accelerating when necessary - a basic prerequisite for our hunting dogs. Impulse control primarily means that the dog can regulate itself, endure something, and has self-control. If a dog has good impulse control, it acts more thoughtfully, less recklessly, and less impulsively.
Some dogs have more of this naturally, others less. But one thing is certain: impulse control can be encouraged and trained very specifically. In the webinar, we will look at what impulse control has to do with expectations, what causes a dog to act very impulsively, what training mistakes and pitfalls lurk in everyday life, and of course: how you can start training directly at home.
Learn in this webinar:
• How impulse control works and how you can promote it in your hunting dog
• Which exercises are really suitable, beyond treat games
• How you can bring more peace and clarity into your shared daily life
• How to get your dog to voluntarily hold back
• How you can ensure your dog doesn't blindly follow every stimulus
