I am part of the forest

The enthusiastic ethnobotanist Wolf-Dieter Storl tells of his unusual life, in which plants have always played a special role. He studies botany and climbs the scientific career ladder. But beyond chemical processes, he soon becomes much more interested in the healing powers and meanings of plants in folk medicine, in legends and myths. Storl leaves his old life behind: He wanders with Cheyenne plant shamans, meditates in India with Shiva's sadhus, lives as a farmhand with Swiss mountain farmers, is a gardener in an anthroposophical rural commune, and today lives on a mountain farm in the Allgäu.

Like no other, Storl understands how to convey a deep understanding of nature to us modern people and to exemplify a coexistence in harmony with nature. He talks to plants and listens to them. He fights for their rights, wants to educate and clear up ignorance and superstition.
