Hardly any dog school offering is as controversial and yet as desperately sought after as the so-called "Raufergruppe" (fighter group). What happens in such a group? Do all the dogs present fight, or is every baring of teeth radically suppressed?
A fighter group can be many things. The spectrum ranges from helpful support to a deeply disturbing experience for both humans and dogs. The concept and the expertise of the trainers* are crucial.
We examine fighter groups both at a conceptual level and directly in practice with video examples. Those who have a good overview and many intervention options can choose appropriately for the situation and learning goals. How can relaxation, friendliness, and safety be promoted? When is it useful to allow aggressive communication, and when is it better not to?
Dogs, their owners*, and also the trainers* need different things to integrate well into a fighter group. Only when everyone is taken care of can there be breathing, support, calming, encouragement, inhibition, laughter, crying, and professionally sound thinking and acting. We won't settle for less!
In this webinar, you will learn:
• what a "Raufer" (fighter) actually is,
• what different fighter group concepts exist,
• what goals and design possibilities a fighter group can have,
• interventions for regulating aggressive communication,
• how to view fighter groups both critically and appreciatively, and
• how to recognize a suitable fighter group for you and your dog.
