When dogs have problems being left alone, the manifestations are as varied as the causes. Destroyed objects, attempts to escape through doors and windows, barking or howling tirades, silent suffering, and puddles of saliva in front of the front door. Some dogs can never be without their human's proximity. Others don't want their human to leave alone and not be able to be with them. Still others only get bored after several hours of being alone. And some dogs fear the worst when they face their own demons without social support. Social beings who are supposed to stay home alone without smartphones and social networks can fail for various reasons: developmental phases, breed-specific problems, learned behavior, fears, low frustration tolerance, influence of upbringing and living conditions, under- and over-stimulation, trauma – many factors play a role, and often separation problems are just one aspect within a larger issue. The webinar provides an overview, tips for analysis, and advice on training and management.
