The Wisdom of Donkeys

Andy Merrifield, a scholar and renowned non-fiction author, leaves New York at the zenith of his career and moves to a remote village in the Auvergne. There, he embarks on a walk that forever changes his view of life. By his side: Gribouille, a donkey. He is Merrifield's silent companion and teacher. After initial impatience, the author – and with him the reader – settles into the donkey's rhythm and begins to understand how meaningless all the urgency and hustle of the modern world are.
