Back problems are among the most common musculoskeletal disorders in dogs. In principle, they can affect any dog.
Webinar Content: The following conditions will be presented:
- Spondylosis
- Herniated disc
- Cauda Equina Compression Syndrome
- What does this disease mean for the dog, how does it manifest itself, and how is it diagnosed?
- Causes, breed predisposition, development, and consequences will also be covered.
- Furthermore, possible treatment measures (surgical, conservative, and physiotherapeutic) will be presented.
- Behavioral tips and supportive measures will be provided for dog owners. These will facilitate daily management of the conditions for both dogs and their owners.
- Additionally, we will delve into the anatomy of the spine and discuss typical symptoms of back pain.
- Various exercises from active movement training will be demonstrated via video instructions that dog owners can use for back problems.
Dog owners will not only gain comprehensive knowledge about the most common back problems in dogs but will also be sensitized to recognize early symptoms of back issues. For the dog, this means that potential diseases can be detected and treated early. For existing conditions, dog owners will also learn how to actively support their dog with complementary measures to promote regeneration or actively delay/halt the progression of a disease, gaining more confidence in managing the condition.
