Cupcakes

Small and handy, cream-crowned, lovingly decorated and wrapped in colourful paper cups: Cupcakes, the American cult treats, have also started their triumphant march in Germany. The aristocratic relatives of muffins, from which they differ by their opulent decoration of cream cheese or buttercream – also called frosting or icing – steal the show from any cake or tart. And in contrast to their transatlantic role models, the German variants do without artificial colour additives and instead provide appearance and taste with delicious fruits.
