Being out in nature – that's the best time for dogs and humans. But unfortunately, that's not always the case. The dog seeks its own activities, chases wild animals, joggers, cyclists, independently seeks dog contact and cannot be recalled. Its human quickly gets annoyed and the dog is soon only on a leash. However, if the human engages with the dog's needs and hunts together with it, they can become the center of the dog's world. Exercises from simple retrieve training, where objects are thrown and the dog searches for them on command and brings them back to the human, are just as suitable as, for example, directed retrieve. This is an exercise from dummy training, an activity specially developed for retrievers, which many other dogs also enjoy. The great thing about this form of activity: the dog not only gets to live out its needs, but also learns heelwork, sitting, waiting, coming, stopping and much more that is important for the daily life of the human-dog team. And at the same time, it strengthens the dog's bond with its human. Even in the house, you can come up with small exercises for in-between and vary them constantly. All retrieving tasks can be adapted to any age of the dog.
