Appeasement Signals in Dogs

Interruption signals are an important form of communication for dogs. Many dog owners perceive interruption signals as aggression or provocation. But is this impression correct? The "Dogwatcher" team from Berlin observed and videotaped various interruption signals in mixed dog groups. In their analysis in text, image and film, the team investigates whether the different interruption signals also have different meanings. Their results represent an important contribution to behavioral research that helps to better understand one's own dog.
