About the Author

Matthias Bergbauer

Dr. Matthias Bergbauer, a graduate biologist, conducted ecophysiological research in marine habitats after completing his doctorate and has been diving since 1980. This included extended research stays at marine biological research stations in the Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Great Barrier Reef/Australia, on the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific, and in the United States. Many divers know him from his marine biological seminars. He regularly publishes in journals, is the author of several successful travel and nature guides, and has been the editor-in-chief of the diving magazine "Silent World" since 2010.
