Fritz Schaefer

Fritz Schaefer (born 1997) is an author and presenter. Even in his youth, he was involved in various radio play and short film productions. After receiving a creative scholarship from Witten/Herdecke University, he became the youngest presenter in the history of WDR. There, he hosts "Lokalzeit" on television and several shows on the youth radio station 1LIVE. He is also responsible for individual editions of the feature format "Zeitzeichen" and some WDR radio plays. In 2022, his bittersweet debut novel "Strahlemann" was published by Ullstein Verlag. He has been a member of the Grimme Award jury for more than ten years. In 2025, "medium magazin" named him one of the "Top 30 under 30" up-and-coming talents in German journalism. Fritz Schaefer lives in Cologne and in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland.
