David Attenborough

Sir David Frederick Attenborough is probably the world's most famous wildlife filmmaker and naturalist. His documentaries and books reached millions of people. He became effectively involved in climate protection at a very early stage. In 2019, he lent his legendary voice to the eight-part Netflix series "Our Planet". In 1983, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, and two years later he was knighted as a Knight Bachelor. In 1992, he was awarded the Goldene Kamera, and in 2007 he received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Science at Uppsala University. A research ship, a strait, and several animal and plant species have been named after David Attenborough.
