Boris Pfeiffer was born in Berlin in 1964, where he also spent his childhood. He completed his Abitur (A-levels), became a bookseller and taxi driver, studied linguistics and landscape planning at TU-Berlin, and screenwriting at the Berlin Film Academy. He then worked as an assistant director and director at various theaters. In 1994, his first play for children premiered at the GRIPS Theater in Berlin. In 2003, his first children's book, 'Kira und Buttermilch' (Kira and Buttermilk), was published. He has since written over 80 plays and books. He created 'Unsichtbar und trotzdem da!' (Invisible and yet there!), 'Die Akademie der Abenteuer' (The Academy of Adventures), and, together with André Marx, 'Das Wilde Pack' (The Wild Pack). He wrote over forty volumes of the cult series 'Die drei ??? Kids' (The Three Investigators Kids). His young adult novels include "Baby im Bauch?" (Baby in the Belly?) and "One Night Stand" and several, partly award-winning, plays published by Kiepenheuer Bühnenverlag. His books have reached a total circulation of over one million copies in Germany, and his stories have been translated into seven languages to date. Boris Pfeiffer is frequently and regularly invited to schools and libraries throughout Germany as a good and popular storyteller and holds readings. His books are known to almost every elementary school child in the German-speaking world. In 2012, the school library of the Karl-Sellheim-Schule in Eberswalde was named the 'Boris Pfeiffer School Library' in his honor. Boris Pfeiffer is a member of the renowned Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis and works with various institutions in Berlin and at the federal level to improve children's and students' reading skills in Germany.
