About the Author

Ulrike Eichin

As a bookseller's daughter, Ulrike Eichin's love of language was virtually ingrained in her from birth, and she wrote for various daily newspapers even as a schoolgirl. Before ultimately deciding on a career in journalism, she studied psychology in Mainz. She has worked as a journalist for ZDF since the mid-1980s, covering a wide range of topics. Her particular interest lies in medical and psychological issues. She met VITA in 2005 during filming. Today, she shares a deep and trusting friendship with Tatjana Kreidler. The dog by her side is named Belas, a friendly Hovawart.
