About the Author
Tatjana Kreidler
After studying social pedagogy, Tatjana Kreidler completed extensive training as an assistance dog trainer at the two major English charity organizations "Guide Dogs for the Blind" and "Dogs for the Disabled". In spring 2000, following the British model, she founded VITA e. V. – a non-profit organization that provides people with disabilities with a four-legged partner, thus pioneering this work in Germany. For the specialized training of the dogs and the matching of humans and animals, she developed her own holistic method, based on sensitization, appreciation, and mutual respect. VITA operates according to international standards, is funded exclusively by donations, and supports its teams for the dog's entire life.
