About the Author
Reinhardt Hess
Reinhardt Hess grew up on the edge of the Hessian Bergstrasse and developed an interest in cooking at a very early age. After studying ecology and many trips to France, he turned his hobby into a profession and became a food and wine journalist in Munich. After several years as an editorial director at cookbook and nature book publishers, he became a freelance author and has since written over 60 cookbooks and wine books. Many of them have been translated and several have won awards. He particularly appreciates the cuisines around the Mediterranean, especially that of Provence – aromatic, characterized by regional seasonal products, and vegetable-focused.
