About the Author

Nicole Künzel

Nicole Künzel was infected with the "horse virus" as a child. After several years in competitive riding, she embarked on a search for a more refined riding style and a different, more respectful approach to horses. Her first path led her to Bent Branderup and a few years later to her current instructor for classical horsemanship, Richard Hinrichs. Openness to new experiences and insights further led her to Andreas Hausberger, Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School, Vienna, and Dr. med. vet. Gerd Heuschmann, with whom she regularly continues her education. Today, Nicole Künzel is an instructor for classical horsemanship herself. She lives and works near Hanover and trains horses and riders both domestically and internationally. Joy, lightness, and harmony between horse and human – a genuinely trained, joyfully cooperative horse that responds to its rider's most subtle aids – are goals she pursues in her daily work with horses.
