Ernst Peter Fischer

Prof. Dr. Ernst Peter Fischer, born in Wuppertal in 1947, is a qualified physicist, holds a doctorate in biology, and has habilitated in the history of science. He teaches the history of science at Heidelberg University and works as a science journalist for GEO, Bild der Wissenschaft, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, among others. He has published many successful non-fiction books such as Die kosmische Hintertreppe (The Cosmic Backstairs), Die Hintertreppe zum Quantensprung (The Backstairs to the Quantum Leap), and the entertaining and informative book on genetics, GENial!. For his work, he has been honored with several awards, including the Sartorius Prize from the Göttingen Academy of Sciences.
