About the Author

COMICON S.L./ Beroy + San Julian

José María Beroy decided early on to dedicate his life to drawing, and what a lot he has drawn since then! Comics of all styles, themes, and formats, illustrations for advertising, for schoolbooks, non-fiction books, and novels, for architectural projects, storyboards, and backgrounds for animated film productions. By now, he no longer knows what to do with the mountains of original drawings piling up in his home. He is particularly proud that people around the globe can enjoy his drawings and stories without him having to leave his studio in Barcelona – although he loves to travel, to discover foreign countries with his wife and his violin-playing son. For that – and only for that – he will even momentarily put down his pencil.

Oriol San Julian: colorist, illustrator, and father of three children (his greatest creations to date!), born in 1976 in Barcelona into a household full of books and comics.

From an early age, he colored everything he got his hands on, so it’s hardly surprising that he eventually turned this favorite pastime into a profession.

For many years, he has worked as a professional colorist and illustrator for agencies, studios, and publishers from Europe and America, always finding time for countless personal projects, which overflow from his sketchbook.

Oriol is sure he has the best job in the world. He writes: "Not a day goes by when this profession doesn't amaze me, bring me new, exciting insights, or set new goals that spur my creativity – and all without having to leave my comfortable spot at the drawing table!"
