Apuni, a Crow Native American girl, lives an ordinary teenager's life. But there is nothing more important in her life than her horse Itchia. Each day, the two experience new adventures. This book accompanies Apuni and Itchia to the mustangs on the plains during a nice vacation day. They play catch at the river and prepare for the traditional Crow Native American festival, the Pow Wow. Inspiring photos and text let the reader participate in horse girl Apuni's world. The text and photo journalist Gabriele Kaercher studies and photographs horses during her global research. She currently lives in Montana and photographs America's wild mustangs and the Crow Native Americans.
