Although a certain level of aggression is evolutionarily sensible, a high level of aggression is considered socially undesirable and causes many owners problems in their daily lives with their dog. As with all other personality traits, both genetic and ontogenetic factors play a role in the development of aggression in dogs. What's more, these factors interact with each other and influence one another.
